Two Timber Creek Wrestlers in State Title Hunt in A.C.

Two move on to the quarterfinals, four will see wrestleback matches.

The good news for Timber Creek is that all six of its wrestlers will see mat time on the second day of the NJSIAA state wrestling tournament in Atlantic City. The bad news is that only two of those grapplers will be competing for the state title.

Brandon Keller (125) and Kevin Bimingham (135) will move on to wrestle in the quarterfinal matches Saturday. The pair beat Manchester's Ken Theobold and Somerville's Paul Kirchner after first-round byes.

The rest of the area's wrestlers saw limited success. Ricky Carter (112) lost to Max Rodger of Delbarton 5-2 after a first-round bye. Bryce Shade (140) lost to Joe Orecchio of Don Bosco Prep 11-3 after a first-round bye.
