Whiz Kids: This Week's Succeeds on the Pitch

Timber Creek senior Melissa Arnold will take her soccer skills south to play in college.

  • Whiz Kid's Name - Melissa Arnold
  • Whiz Kid's Age - 18
  • Whiz Kid's School - Timber Creek Regional High School
  • Whiz Kid's Accomplishment - Melissa was named to The Philadelphia Inquirer's 2010 All-South Jersey girls' soccer team this past fall, and has signed to play soccer and study at Florida Gulf Coast University. The senior followed up her stellar season on the pitch with an All-Group III performance in winter track. She holds four individual school records, in the 400, 800, 400 hurdles and long jump.
  • Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness - Melissa uses an impressive combination of speed, skill and determination to excel on the soccer field. A member of the National Honor Society who carries a 3.5 GPA, she also uses her brain to succeed—both on the field and in the classroom.
