District 14 Championship All Gloucester Township

Erial's Majors All-Stars will face Blackwood Kiwanis as it seeks a fourth consecutive District 14 title.

The 2012 New Jersey District 14 Little League championship is all about Gloucester Township.

It's Erial vs. Blackwood for the title, and the games will be played at Erial's George Erdbrink Complex.

The matchup was set up with Blackwood's dramatic 12-11 win over Barrington in eight innings Monday night. Eric DiDomenico roped a single down the left-field line in the bottom of the eighth inning to knock in the game-winning run, manager Jack Donegan said.

Erial advanced to the title round with its 6-2 win over Barrington Saturday night.

Blackwood rebounded from a 14-4 pounding by Barrington exactly one week earlier to advance to the championship round with the big, extra-innings win Monday.

The victory earned Blackwood Kiwanis the right to meet three-time defending District 14 11- and 12-year-old champion Erial, which has outscored its four opponents by a combined 50-13.

Erial (4-0) will host the championship round. The team can win the league's fifth straight title with one more win.

By virtue of its one loss, Blackwood (4-1) must beat Erial on consecutive nights to take the district title.

Game 1 of the championship round is set for 7 p.m. tonight. Game 2 (if necessary) is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Erial will host its first-ever District 14 championship, having had its field lights installed this spring.
