Lil' Slugger's Accomplishments: Gianni D'Antonio was a key cog in Erial's offensive attack during the team's 19-0 win over Glendora Little League Monday night. After a tough strikeout in the first inning, D'Antonio fought back from behind in the count in his second at-bat and hit a huge 230-foot grand slam over the right center-field fence to give Erial an 8-0 lead. In the third inning, D'Antonio followed with a second home run, this one a two-run shot to extend Erial's lead to 16-0. He also singled in the fourth inning to finish off a 3-for-4 evening with six RBIs.
Lil Slugger's Key to Awesomeness: “Both times, he was down in the count. The one time, he was pretty choked up on the bat and he still managed to hit the ball to right field and he still hit it out. So he's a pretty strong kid.” - Erial head coach Carl Foltz.
