The cheerleaders won their division at an international competition in Orlando, FL, last month.

The Township Council and Mayor David Mayer recognized Gloucester Township Girls Athletic Association (GTGAA) Wildcats Cheerleading Monday night for its first-place rec division finish in the AmeriCheer-AmeriDance International Championship at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL, last month.

Longtime GTGAA President Chuck Palumbo presented Council President Glen Bianchini and Mayer with the large trophy the girls brought home from Florida, as well as a plaque commemorating their title, to be displayed in the trophy case at the municipal building.

The Wildcats won first place in the competition on March 18. Palumbo noted the team fell just three points shy of taking the title as grand champion in the competition, which he noted drew more than 90 squads from around the world.
