Lions Swing and Miss on Championship Title

Glen Landing Middle School's baseball team came out to an early lead, but couldn't hold off its rival. The coach looks at the bright side for his boys.

The Glen Landing Lions baseball team may not have gotten the win on Tuesday in a championship game, but the squad has a lot to be proud of, says coach Justin George.

The Lions fell to Harrington Middle School of Mount Laurel, 10-8.

"It was a great game and kids fought hard," George said. "We were up 5-0 going into the third (inning), but just had to many errors and Harrington scored seven runs. After that, we were chasing the whole game."

Second place is nothing to sniff at for these ball players. The team won just four games last season, George said, and improved to 11 wins this year.

Congratulations on your season, Glen Landing baseball.
