Placekicker Gives Timber Creek a 1-Point Win

Also in local football, Gloucester Catholic downs Highland and Triton falls to Kingsway.

The Timber Creek High School football team pulled off a 1-point victory on the leg of its placekicker Friday night, according to nj.com.

Timber Creek defeated Moorestown, 7-6, in a game in which all the scoring came in the second quarter.

Dan Williams tossed a 25-yard pass to Cameron Chambers for a score, and Timber Creek prevailed on the extra point kick by Justin Gonzalez.

Moorestown scored on a blocked punt, returned 20 yards for a touchdown by Yuseph Green.

Timber Creek improved to 4-1, and will host Lenape on Friday night, 7 p.m.

Moorestown fell to 2-3, and will host Camden on Friday night, 7 p.m.

Gloucester Catholic 14, Highland 7: Highland's touchdown came in the fourth quarter as it nearly pulled off the upset.

Highland's defense held Gloucester Catholic to one touchdown through three quarters, but the Rams eventually took a 14-0 lead in the fourth.

Jamil Jackson scored on a 98-yard touchdown pass from Derin Sweeney, and Highland cut the lead to seven. The score came too late, as Highland dropped to 1-4. Gloucester Catholic improved to 3-2.

Highland returns to the field Friday night at Cumberland Regional, 7 p.m.

Kingsway 37, Triton 13: Triton scored on a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs.

Isaiah Baylor scored in the second quarter with Kingsway already leading 15-0. Kingsway scored twice more in the second quarter to pull away.

Faheem Boyd scored in the fourth quarter, as Triton fell to 1-3. Triton hosts Willamstown Friday night, 7 p.m.
