Lil’ Slugger’s Accomplishment(s): Rodriguez blasted a two-run home run to center field as part of an 8-run second inning in Blackwood’s 10-0 win over Waterford on Tuesday. He also added a single one inning later. Rodriguez now has five homers in five games.

Lil’ Slugger’s Key to Awesomeness: With so many homers it would be understandable to think that Rodriguez has long-balls on his mind every time he steps to the plate. However, Rodriguez said that isn’t the case. He said he is just looking to make good contact and the homers have been the result.

“I just look for a hit, I don’t look for any home runs,” Rodriguez said. “I just try my best to hit the ball. I have good people around me that can hit the ball and field.”
