Thrash Win Playoff Opener

Making its first playoff appearance in several years, the Gloucester Township Baseball 14U team downed a team from Pennsauken.

While playoff baseball may not be the way the GT Thrash 14-and-under baseball team has spent its last few summers, the players seemed right at home in the postseason environment Wednesday night.

The Thrash defeated the P Town Indians, of Pennsauken, 17-5 in the Tri-State Elite Baseball League playoff opener. The game was called after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.

"The kids played great, hitting the ball all over the field, running the bases like champs and playing one of their best games defensively to date," Thrash manager Flip Martorano said.
