Timber Creek Boys' Soccer Team Advances to Semifinals

The Chargers scored a pair of one-goal victories last week.

The Timber Creek High School boys’ soccer team advanced to the semifinals of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 playoffs with a pair of one-goal victories last week, according to nj.com.

No. 3 Timber Creek ousted No. 14 Seneca, 1-0, in the first round. Steve Ersing scored the goal, with an assist from Matthew Hershey. Goalie Justin Smith made six saves.

In the quarterfinals, Timber Creek knocked out No. 6 Central Regional, 2-1. Alex Kourahanis scored both goals. Goalie Justin Smith made four saves.

Timber Creek and Triton each fell in the first round of the playoffs.

No. 9 Timber Creek dropped a 1-0 decision to No. 8 Pinelands in the first round of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 playoffs.

Timber Creek held Pinelands scoreless in the first half, but fell on a goal by Amanda Allikmaa in the second.

No. 10 Triton fell to No. 7 Mainland, 4-2. Madison Shields and Rebecca Dolhansky scored for Triton. The game was tied 2-2 at halftime. Triton goalie Liz Dicamillo made five saves.
