Timber Creek Hands Williamstown First Loss on Gridiron
The Chargers' girls' tennis team was eliminated from the playoffs this week.
The Timber Creek High School football team handed Williamstown its first loss of the season, 25-18, on Friday night, according to nj.com.
Timber Creek scored three of the first four touchdowns, but failed to convert the extra point attempts. Williamstown managed to rally for an 18-18 tie.
In the fourth quarter, Isaiah Austin scored his second touchdown of the day, on a 2-yard run. The touchdown turned out to be the game-winner. Austin's previous touchdown was a 1-yard run in the third quarter.
Dan Williams accounted for the Chargers' first two touchdowns, carrying the first one in himself from 1 yard out. The second came on a 26-yard pass from Williams to Adonis Jennings.
However, the Braves were able to climb back into the game. A 55-yard touchdown run by Marques Little, followed by a two-point conversion, tied the game before Austin's heroics.
Both teams are now 3-1. Timber Creek hosts Moorestown on Friday night, 7 p.m.

Pennsville 42, Highland 14: Highland scored both touchdowns in the fourth quarter, after Pennsville already had the game in hand. Highland (1-3) returns to action on Saturday at Gloucester Catholic, 10:30 a.m.

Timber Creek was knocked out of the playoffs on the first day of competition.
The 11th-seeded Chargers fell to No. 6 Toms River South, 4-1, in the first round of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 playoffs.

Timber Creek’s lone win came at third singles, where Sapphira Payne defeated Kelly Markle, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3.
The second doubles match went three sets, as Timber Creek’s Caroline Newman and Meghan Polhemus defeated Briana Edmonds and Kayla Jones, 6-2, 6-7 (6-8), 6-0.

Timber Creek 3, Lenape 1: Vincent Palmucci had two goals and an assist to help Timber Creek improve to 8-1. Alex Kourahanis added a goal, and Matt Wolf had an assist. Jay Jennings and Justin Smith split time in goal to post the shutout.
Timber Creek 5, Bishop Eustace 0: Steve Ersing led the way with a hat trick. His three goals were aided by goals from Joe Burton and Alex Kourahanis, who also had two assists. Connor Atkinson, Chad Magana and Matt Wolf provided assists. Goalies Jay Jennings and Justin Smith shared the shutout with one save each.
Seneca 2, Timber Creek 1: Seneca handed Timber Creek its first loss of the season. Alex Kourahanis scored Timber Creek’s only goal, with an assist from Steve Ersing. Jay Jennings and Justin Smith split time in the goal, combining for five saves.
Delsea 2, Triton 1: The teams were tied, 1-1, at halftime, but Delsea pulled away with the winning goal in the second half.
Timber Creek 1, Bishop Eustace 1: Hailey McGrath scored the lone goal, unassisted, for Timber Creek. Goalie Elise Sullivan made seven saves. The game was scoreless at halftime.
Timber Creek 2, Seneca 0: Brianna Magana scored both goals in the win. She received help in the form of assists from Hayley DeFeo, Sarina Jones and Angela Masticona.
Highland 2, Schalick 0: Erin Looby and Taylor Young scored the goals to help Highland improve to 8-1. Devon Graf and Katelyn Viscusi provided the assists. Goalie Kari Vanderslice made two saves to ensure the shutout.
Highland 3, Glassboro 2: Highland scored first, but had to fight off a Glassboro rally in the overtime win. Julie Anskis, Lauren Hoelke and Morgan Ruth scored the goals as Highland held a 1-0 lead at halftime.
They scored again in the second half, but Glassboro tied the game with two second half goals. Highland broke the tie in overtime.
Goalie Kari Vanderslice stopped 19 shots.
Giovanna DeFinizio and Devon Graf had the assists.
Triton 3, Delsea 2: Triton broke a 1-1 halftime tie with two goals in the second half. Rebecca Dolhansky scored a goal and an assist. Megan Deiling and Paige Bergman also found the back of the net in the win. Christina Olsen and Liz DiCamillo split time in goal, totaling seven saves.
Triton 3, Oakcrest 2: Triton scored all its goals in the first half, and held on for the win in the second.
Paige Bergman led the way with a goal and an assist. Other goals came from Michelle Paradiso and Maria Gosner. Nicole Cahill and Erica Thompson had assists. Goalie Liz Dicamillo made six saves. Christina Olsen also saw time in goal, making one save.
