Rotary Club to Host 'Field of Dreams' Fundraiser

Mark your calendars for Saturday, Feb. 18.

Gloucester Township Rotary Club will host a fundraiser next month to benefit the proposed "Field of Dreams" baseball facility for physically and mentally disabled children.

The Comedy Night beef-and-beer fundraiser will be held Saturday, Feb. 18, at Valleybrook Country Club from 7 to 11 p.m.

Rotary is selling raffle tickets for a framed Philadelphia Phillies jersey autographed by the team's 2011 "Four Aces"—Roy Halladay, Cole Hamels, Cliff Lee and Roy Oswalt. Raffle tickets cost $5 each. The drawing will be held at Gloucester Township Day, which is scheduled to be celebrated on Saturday, June 2, at Lt. Col. Samuel M. Siler Veterans Memorial Park.

Gloucester Township officials are partnering with Rotary and other service clubs to try to bring the special-needs field to Gloucester Township Community Park.

Mayor David Mayer and Council members recently called on residents to donate time, money and materials for the project, which would bring the first such baseball field to Camden County.
