Budgets Approved in All Gloucester Twp. Fire Districts

Saturday's fire district elections see just one newcomer elected commissioner.

Budgets were approved by sound margins in all six Gloucester Township fire district elections on Saturday, as a host of incumbents were re-elected fire commissioners in the township's six districts. In the two fire districts with contested races, incumbent Kevin J. Donahue and newcomer Joseph A. Reichert were elected to three-year terms as District 2 commissioners, while incumbents Woody Minner and Phil Knast won re-election as District 1 commissioners. Donahue received 482 votes and Reichert 516 in the District 2 race, according to unofficial numbers. The third individual to file a petition to appear on the District 2 ballot, Craig R. Fire District Elections Held Today

Polls are open from 2 to 9 p.m.

Fire elections will be held for Gloucester Township's six fire districts on Saturday, Feb. 16. Polls will be open at the six fire stations from 2 to 9 p.m. Below is a rundown of the candidates for fire commissioner and proposed tax levy amounts for each district. District 1: Incumbents Woody Minner and Phil Knast and challenger Nicholas Giambri are running for two three-year terms on the Board of Commissioners. Glendora voters are also being asked to support a $297,900 tax levy for the all-volunteer company—an increase of $11,500 from 2012. District 2: Incumbent Kevin J. Donahue and newcomers Joseph A.
