Several media outlets sought access to juvenile proceedings for the brothers charged in the slaying of 12-year-old Clayton resident Autumn Pasquale.
A state Superior Court judge on Friday denied the media access to juvenile proceedings invovling two teenaged brothers charged with murder in the slaying of 12-year-old Autumn Pasquale, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Judge Colleen A. Maier issued her decision from the bench at a closed hearing in Woodbury attended by lawyers for several news organizations, according to the Inquirer. The judge made her ruling before a detention hearing Friday for the brothers. They are being held in the Camden County Juvenile Detention Center at Lakeland, in Gloucester Township. The Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office will ask a judge to waive the brothers to adult court.
Prosecutors want to try two teenage brothers as adults in the slaying of a 12-year-old Clayton girl. The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office announced Thursday it will file a motion in the Family Division of state Superior Court in Woodbury asking a judge to waive the brothers, ages 15 and 17, to adult court, where they would face more serious punishment if convicted. Funeral services will be held Saturday for Autumn Pasquale, the 12-year-old Clayton, Gloucester County girl who was missing for two days before her body was found. A viewing will be held 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 500 Greentree Rd., Glassboro. A funeral Mass will follow at 2 p.m. at the church. A memorial fund has been established in Pasquale's name. Donations can be sent to the Autumn Pasquale Memorial Fund, c/o Fulton Bank, 35 N. Delsea Drive, Clayton, NJ 08312.
