Councilwoman Michelle Gentek becomes a Camden County freeholder in January.
The process to find Michelle Gentek's replacement on Gloucester Township Council recently got underway, according to Council President Glen Bianchini. Gentek will become a Camden County freeholder in January following her Nov. 6 election to the Board of Chosen Freeholders as part of a Democratic Party sweep of county races. A date for the freeholders' 2013 reorganization meeting, during which Gentek will take her oath of office, had not been set as of Friday afternoon, according to Camden County spokesman Dan Keashen. When Gloucester Township residents go to polling places for Election Day on Tuesday, they will have a full ballot to consider. No, they're not full-time. It's the county equivalent of a township council or committee member. I'm not sure exactly what freeholder salaries are these days, but I'd say in the $10,000 to $15,000 per year range.   more ›
