UPDATE 12/27 11:21 p.m.: Police on Thursday identified the driver injured in the one-car crash on Lower Landing Road Wednesday afternoon as Nicole Showers, 23, of Bellmore Avenue, Deptford. Bellmore remained listed in critical condition at Cooper University Hospital, in Camden, as of about 4 p.m. Thursday, police said. ---------- A one-car crash in Blackwood Wednesday afternoon left the driver in critical condition, police said. The accident occurred on Chews Landing Road around 8 a.m.
A two-car accident on Chews Landing Road Thursday morning did not result in any injuries, according to police, but did bring damage to a historic Old Black Horse Pike church's cemetery. A section of the fence surrounding the cemetery at The Church of St. John the Evangelist of Chews Landing was felled and two headstones dislodged as a result of the accident. The accident occurred around 8 a.m. No one sustained serious injuries in the crash, Gloucester Township Police Lt. Brian McKendry said.
