New Jersey Aid for Animals board member Kelly Matthews, a Gloucester Township resident, submitted the following to Patch: Checkers is a sweet, 8-week-old kitten who is full of spunk! This little one loves his stuffed flamingo, and loves playing with the kids in his foster family. Once he’s sleepy, he loves to cuddle up with his people. He’s confident and already knows to use his litter box and scratch post, so he’ll be the perfect addition to a fun-loving family! Magellan is a sweet puppy who arrived at the shelter over the summer. Magellan had a serious skin condition, but he recovered in foster care and is all ready for his forever home. He’s a great young pup, who has been raised with young children and loves them. Visions for Vacancies: Checkers

The Chews Landing Road fast-food joint closed recently.

The Checkers fast-food restaurant on Chews Landing Road closed its doors recently. In recent weeks, we've asked our readers with "Visions for Vacancies" to identify the types of businesses they wanted to see in the former Denny's and former Super Fresh locations on Blackwood Clementon Road. This week, we want you to tell us and your fellow Gloucester Township Patch readers what you'd like to see in the now-vacant Checkers building in the Market Place shopping center. This one will likely be a bit more tricky than our first two "Visions for Vacancies" features, given the unique size and shape of Checkers buildings. What do you think? Another fast-food restaurant?
