Blame Game Over Comcast Grant On
A Comcast grant may have given the township plenty of money to get Township Council meetings on TV.
Gloucester Township recently formed a new committee to consider televising Township Council meetings. There has been much debate over how to fund such a project, and even more concern voiced that taxpayers might have to foot the bill. Mayor David Mayer sees no need to spend taxpayer money on this, as the new GT Citizens Access program has Council meetings streaming live online. The man he appointed to head the new Exploratory Council Broadcast Committee, Ray Polidoro, is not looking to spend citizens’ money either, but he’s been lobbying to get meetings televised for years now, claiming doing so would increase transparency.
