Police: Drunken Erial Man Crashes Car Into 2 Pedestrians

David L. Jones Sr. is charged with two counts of assault by auto and DWI following a car crash early on New Year's Day.

An Erial man is charged with crashing a car into two pedestrians while driving drunk on Erial-Clementon Road early on New Year's Day. Around 1:44 a.m. Tuesday, Gloucester Township Police responded to the 2000 block of Erial-Clementon Road, where they found a 22-year-old man from Gloucester Township collapsed in a yard. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital with abrasions and contusions. A 21-year-old Pine Hill resident was taken to Kennedy University Hospital-Stratford for her minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle, David L. Jones Sr., 67, was arrested at the scene for driving while intoxicated. Jones, of Dori Court, Erial, was also charged with two counts of fourth-degree assault by auto. Jones was released on a summons …

Berlin Man Charged with DWI After Crash

The one-vehicle crash shut down traffic on Evesham Road for hours Sunday night.

Police have charged a Berlin man with drunken driving after they say he crashed a pickup truck into a pole in the township's Glendora section Sunday evening. Police and emergency medical units were dispatched to the 900 block of West Evesham Road at 6:46 p.m. on a report that a large pickup truck struck a utility pole there, Gloucester Township Police Sgt. James Garber said. Arriving police units found the pickup and part of the utility pole, which split in two upon the truck's impact with it, in the middle of the road. A witness reported seeing what police described as a large, white stake body pickup truck, which was pulling a trailer, traveling from Deptford Township swerve and then strike the utility pole, Garber said. Three Hospitalized After Three-Car Crash

The accident occurred on College Drive at around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Three people were hospitalized late Wednesday afternoon following a three-car crash on College Drive. Police were dispatched to College Drive, near Blackwood Clementon Road, at 4:16 p.m. for a report of a head-on collision, according to Gloucester Township Police Sgt. James Garber. Responding police officers found the two-car accident resulted in a third vehicle being struck. Personnel from Gloucester Township EMS and Blackwood Fire Department responded to assist. All three drivers were taken to area hospitals for treatment—one to Cooper University Hospital, in Camden, for treatment of what police described as a minor leg injury, the other two to Kennedy University Hospital-Stratford after complaining of head and neck pain. Four Teens Injured in Crash

Police say the teens sustained minor injuries.

A vehicle carrying four township teens struck a curb on the 600 block of Almonesson Road Friday morning and then crashed into a utility pole. Firefighters, police and EMS units were able to extricate the four teens from the vehicle using the "Jaws of Life," according to Gloucester Township Police. All four teens, who range in age from 15 to 17 years old and attend Gloucester Catholic High School, were taken to Cooper University Hospital, in Camden, for evaluation of "minor" injuries, police said. The accident occurred at about 7:23 a.m. The impact caused the utility pole to snap, police said. Police: Woman Suffers Minor Injuries After Crashing Her Car Into Bank

An Erial woman drove her car into the lobby of the College Drive bank Monday morning.

An elderly motorist crashed her car into the lobby of the College Drive TD Bank branch Monday morning. No one was seriously hurt in the accident, which occurred at about 11:15 a.m., police said. A township building inspector responded to the bank building, located in the township's Blackwood section, and determined there was no major structural damage as a result of the crash, according to police. The drive-thru window at the bank located at 601 College Dr. will remain open as repairs are made to the entrance to the lobby. Police identified the driver who crashed into the bank's glass lobby as 76-year-old Patrica Frank. Two Women Injured in Route 42 Crash

The one-vehicle crash happened around 5:15 a.m. this morning.

Two women were injured in a one-vehicle crash on Route 42 this morning. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the accident scene—near milemarker 8.0 in the township's Blackwood section—at 5:15 a.m., according to a state police spokesman. A state trooper witnessed the crash, New Jersey State Police acting Lt. Stephen Jones said. The black GMC Jimmy was southbound on Route 42 when it veered off of the highway. The SUV struck a tree on the west side of Route 42, with the driver's-side door bearing the brunt of the crash, according to Jones. The GMC's driver, identified by Jones as 50-year-old Philadelphia resident Jean Brown, had to be extricated from the SUV. Brown was flown by state police medevac to Cooper University Hospital in Camden. …
