Only four Gloucester Township schools met proficiency standards in math and language.
Seven of 11 township schools received a failing grade on a state school proficiency report released this month. The only schools meeting proficiency are: Blackwood, Glendora, Lilley and Union Valley, all elementary. The results have district administrators concerned. "We do have work to do," interim school Superintendent John Bilodeau said last week. "A corrective action plan has been developed individually for each school. The board has approved one for each building." Bilodeau said a consultant will be hired to help align the district's curriculum to state standards. Investigators charge the three men in a burglary that resulted in heavy police activity near Glendora Elementary School Wednesday afternoon.
Police have charged two Gloucester Township residents and a Philadelphia man with breaking into a Glendora home and stealing a safe on Wednesday. The three men charged in the Huntington Avenue burglary are Hilltop residents Daniel Rollick, 21, and Matthew Rollick, 18, and Philadelphia resident Domenic Romano, 21, Gloucester Township Police Capt. Jeff Weiserth announced this evening. Daniel and Matthew Rollick are brothers, according to police. Daniel Rollick and Domenic Romano have been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary. Both men were released on their own recognizance. Matthew Rollick was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and loitering to commit a drug offense. Police release the names of three men charged in Huntington Avenue home burglary that caused scene around Glendora Elementary School Wednesday.
Police have released the names of three men charged with burglarizing a home on Huntington Avenue in Glendora on Wednesday. The three men charged in the Huntington Avenue burglary are Hilltop residents Daniel Rollick, 21, and Matthew Rollick, 18, and Philadelphia resident Domenic Romano, 21, Gloucester Township Police Capt. Glendora Elementary School reportedly is put on lockdown.
Gloucester Township Police took several burglary suspects into custody on the 100 block of Glendora's Station Avenue shortly before 1 p.m. this afternoon. Gloucester Township Police Deputy Chief David Harkins has confirmed the burglary being investigated occurred on the 300 block of Huntington Avenue, in Glendora. The police activity occurred near Glendora Elementary School. Parents of students at the school posted to Gloucester Township Patch's Facebook page that the school was placed on lockdown during the incident down the road.
