Glendora Home Spreads Christmas Spirit for 50 Years Now

This marks the 50th year the Wilkins home at 13th and Maple avenues, in Glendora, has been elaborately decorated for Christmas.

Talk to Justin Wilkins for just one minute this time of year and you'll find it's near impossible to resist the Christmas spirit that emanates from the Glendora resident. I just like to see the smiles on their faces," the 53-year-old said. "It goes right to my heart." When you look at the number of lights on Wilkins' property and think about the electric bill he must receive each year to put on the …

PHOTOS: Glendora Christmas House

Justin Wilkins' Maple Avenue home is a Gloucester Township Christmas tradition.

The Wilkins home at 13th and Maple avenues in Glendora has been elaborately decorated for Christmas for 50 years now. Gloucester Township Patch stopped by the home Wednesday night to talk to Justin Wilkins—the man behind the display for more than 20 years now—and to take some photos of his 2012 effort. Here, you have a chance to check out some photos and a short video of the 2012 display. I suggest you take a drive over to check out the display for yourself if you have not already done so. You can't help but get in the Christmas spirit when you're there. Plus, Santa Claus will be there 6 to 9 p.m. each night through Christmas Eve. Editor's Note: Stop back to Gloucester Township Patch this weekend for a full feature on Justin Wilkins' "…

Kind Service for a Kind Price

Kind Kuts Landscape and Lawn Service in Glendora specializes in landscaping, hardscaping, lawn care, tree removal and more.

This week has been a busy one for VJ Hurley, owner of Glendora-based Kind Kuts Landscape and Lawn Service.   Hurley, whose company specializes in the A to Z of landscaping, said he’s received 40 calls and emails from property owners in South Jersey who need trees removed following Hurricane Sandy, which rocked the Northeast Monday and Tuesday.  High winds, plus South Jersey’s naturally sandy soil made trees easy targets in the hurricane, said Hurley. His company has been fielding calls and emails all week, and removed trees from all over the area including in Mullica Hill and Shamong. “While some companies may be taking advantage of the urgency of tree removal requests, we continue to honor fair pricing and prompt response,” Hurley said. “…
