The state Election Law Enforcement Commission told Marianne Coyle that an association she had with a local political action committee was improper. Police searched the home of a Triton Regional High School student Wednesday after he allegedly threatened to commit violence at the school. The Gloucester Township school board could award a contract for a curriculum consultant at its next meeting, May 20. Officer Joseph DiBuonaventura was formally charged with official misconduct and related offenses in connection with a drunken-driving arrest of state Assemblyman Paul Moriarty. Attorneys representing the three victims in the Triton Regional High School teacher-student sex case have filed notices of potential lawsuits. A College Drive massage parlor was shut down by authorities earlier this month after its owner and an employee were charged in a prostitution sting. Three former Triton Regional High School educators received paychecks totaling nearly $100,000 while they were suspended as a result of a teacher-student sex case that rocked the school last fall. Two Triton Regional High School teachers will possibly serve just 30 days under house arrest after entering guilty pleas Monday afternoon in connection with a teacher-student sex scandal that rocked the Runnemede school last fall. Pine Hill Middle School teacher Charles Reilly was indicted on 92 counts of child abuse, including sexual assault and child pornography, authorities announced Wednesday. Police have identified a suspect in a stabbing late Thursday that injured a 22-year-old man. The Blackwood Lake Advisory Commission has an idea that could encourage more adult recreational activities at the lake. An extremely busy week saw major stories in crime and courts (man killed with arrow, K-9 death suspect back in jail), schools (contract negotiations drag on), town council (money put up for armored vehicle) and much more.
Gloucester Township’s school board backs off of a plan to move around school administrators midyear. Teachers and parents, who flooded the meeting to protest, loudly cheered the decision. Just a week after outcry over him getting a drug rehab program instead of a trial, the man accused of killing a police K-9 was back behind bars. The school board and teachers union have yet to find common ground in contract negotiations. Teachers have worked without a new deal since June 2012.
