Patch/NJ Aid for Animals Pet of the Week: Katrina

Katrina wants to be a part of your family.

New Jersey Aid for Animals board member Kelly Matthews, a Gloucester Township resident, submitted the following to Patch: Katrina is a truly special dog. She is classified as "special needs" because she is deaf. But being special is so much more than that! Katrina was once an adorable little puppy. Whoever owned her must not have been able to figure out why their precious puppy wouldn't listen. Maybe they thought she was just a dumb dog and Katrina found herself living outside with no one to help her learn how to be a good dog and no one to take care of her. Animal control brought her to the shelter when she broke loose and no one came to look for her. Katrina tested heartworm positive while in the shelter. Her health deteriorated and her …
