Marco is the Patch/NJ Aid for Animals pet of the week.
New Jersey Aid for Animals (NJAFA) board member Kelly Matthews, a Gloucester Township resident, submitted the following to Patch regarding a dog in need of a home: This 2-year-old, darling little boy was surrendered from Camden. He loves all dogs from a 200-pound Bernese mountain dog to a tiny teacup poodle. He shows not one ounce of aggression and is house broken. Marco's owner was heartbroken to give him up, but NJAFA can tell he was sure loved. He's neutered and up to date on all of his shots while currently living with his foster mom. We would love nothing more than to see one of the Patch readers give him a family to call his own. To fill out an application (fenced yard only please) to bring Marco home, please go here http://www.njafa…

He is the Patch/NJ Aid for Animals Pet of the Week.
New Jersey Aid for Animals (NJAFA) board member Kelly Matthews, a Gloucester Township resident, submitted the following to Patch regarding a dog in need of a home: Meet Marlo, he's had it pretty rough so far. He has been living most of his life with a chain padlocked around his neck. He was neutered last week and suffered a severe infection, which required additional surgery. He had an eye infection that was also pretty painful for him. Marlo was skinny, dirty, and sick, but is still a friendly and very happy pup. Marlo has been happy to have a clean dry place to sleep and daily walks. He's been playing in the wide-open yard without the chain around his neck while he recovers from his surgery. He is considered urgent, and at risk to be put…

Patch/NJ Aid for Animals adopt a pet of the week.
New Jersey Aid for Animals board member Kelly Matthews, a Camden County resident, submitted this to Patch: Kitty Girl and Buggy, a tightly-bonded pair of sweet-natured tabbies, don't know it but their lives are in danger. Their owner recently died and no one is available to take care of them. They are scheduled to go to an open-admission animal shelter on May 15, where they could be euthanized. Both cats are 8 years old, brown tigers, healthy, gentle, kindly and loving. All they need is a chance. If you can foster or adopt Buggy and Kitty Girl, please contact Patty, peetieb@aol.com. This dapper young dog is friendly, fun and looking for a loving home.

He is a gorgeous, 1-year-old brindle pit bull terrier. Rick is a nice guy, lively and fun. He is ready waiting for a loving forever home. He's very social with other dogs and wouldn't mind a home with other dogs at all. He's been neutered and is up to date on all of his shots. Please consider giving him the second chance he deserves. If you're interested in adopting Rick or just meeting him please email info@njafa.org today! Archie has a temporary foster mom, but needs a permanent home.
New Jersey Aid for Animals board member Kelly Matthews, a Gloucester Township resident, submitted the following press release—told through the eyes of foster dog Archie—to Patch: My name is Archie. I am a very calm young man (about 18 months old) who loves everyone including dog and cats. I am currently living with four dogs of all shapes and sizes. I am a brindle Pomeranian mix and weigh just 13 pounds, am neutered and micro-chipped, and have all my shots. Low maintenance for me 'cause I don't dig, jump or chew and am very quiet (not one of those small yappy dogs). Although I go into my crate very nicely, my foster lets me sleep with her and says I am a real snuggler. I only need to get groomed once in a while and am doing really …

Katrina wants to be a part of your family.
New Jersey Aid for Animals board member Kelly Matthews, a Gloucester Township resident, submitted the following to Patch: Katrina is a truly special dog. She is classified as "special needs" because she is deaf. But being special is so much more than that! Katrina was once an adorable little puppy. Whoever owned her must not have been able to figure out why their precious puppy wouldn't listen. Maybe they thought she was just a dumb dog and Katrina found herself living outside with no one to help her learn how to be a good dog and no one to take care of her. Animal control brought her to the shelter when she broke loose and no one came to look for her. Katrina tested heartworm positive while in the shelter. Her health deteriorated and her …

Won't you give this young pup a good home?
New Jersey Aid for Animals board member Kelly Matthews, a Gloucester Township resident, submitted the following to Patch: Archie is a young (less than 2 years old), 12-pound, brindle pom mix. He's super friendly and laid back. He is neutered, up to date on all of his shots and microchipped. Archie gets along great with cats and is a big love bug! If you're looking for a low-maintenance dog to be your new best friend, fill out the adoption form here and make an appointment to meet Archie today! This week's Patch/NJ Aid for Animals Pet of the Week is a terrier with a bit of bulldog in her.
New Jersey Aid for Animals board member Kelly Matthews, a Gloucester Township resident, submitted the following press release to Patch: Baby Face is one of the sweetest dogs you can imagine. She is a 3-year-old American Staffordshire terrier that looks like she also has some English bulldog in her background. She is low to the ground, has some extra skin and makes the typical bulldog "grunty sounds" that make them so comical. Baby Face came into the shelter emaciated, not much more than skin and bones and chained to another dog. This sweet girl has shown all the evidence of a life of terrible neglect but somehow she has kept her sweet disposition and hope for the future. This is a well-mannered, friendly young dog with so much love to give…

That's right—NJ Aid for Animals' newest dog is so new they still haven't named it. Adopt it before they can!
New Jersey Aid for Animals board member Kelly Matthews, a Gloucester Township resident, submitted the following to Patch: Meet the newest NJ Aid for Animals (NJAFA) rescue star! We would tell you his name, but he doesn't have one. Camden City Animal Control reached out to us, so he didn't have to go into the shelter, and we welcomed him with open arms. This little guy is only 6 months old and weighs 11 pounds. He's not expected to get much larger since we suspect he's a mix between a rat terrier and a Chihuahua. What do you think? NJAFA recommends this cutie go to a home with no small children and someone who is ready to give him the time and attention puppies need. “No Name,” as we've taken to calling him, is doing well on housebreaking …

Emily still needs a "furever" home.
New Jersey Aid for Animals board member Kelly Matthews, a Gloucester Township resident, submitted the following to Patch: It sure has been busy around New Jersey Aid for Animals! NJAFA broke their own record of placing four animals in one month (one a senior)—Trane, Charlie, Sparkles and Mitzy. It sure feels good to watch the animals we work so hard to save find their "furever" homes. Emily is all set to find her forever home! She is about 4 years old, up to date on all of her shots, and spayed. It takes her time to settle in and learn her surroundings, so please be ready to work on introducing Emily if she will be joining your family. She is blind, but far from disabled. Emily plays and gets around just like other dogs. Everywhere this …
