Man Stole Burner Cell Phones from Kmart: Police

Gloucester Township Police Department CrimeStoppers releases video showing a man accused of stealing several pre-paid cell phones from Kmart.

Gloucester Township Police Department CrimeStoppers on Tuesday released surveillance video from the Blackwood Clementon Road Kmart that shows a man who allegedly stole several pre-paid Boost Mobile cell phones. The shoplifting incident occurred on Friday, Feb. 15, at approximately 8 p.m. The suspect removed the cell phones from packaging, then left the store without attempting to pay for them, police said. Police described the suspect as a white male in his 20s who may have tattoos on his neck. He was wearing a black Philadelphia Flyers hat, a long necklace with a medallion on it, a black coat, a white shirt and black Rocawear jeans. Police Seek Kmart Slipper Thieves

Police say one suspect took off the slippers he was wearing and left the Blackwood Clementon Road store in a new pair and carrying another in a backpack.

Police hope the release of surveillance video footage will help them identify a young man they say took off his old slippers and walked out of the Blackwood Clementon Road Kmart wearing a new pair and carrying another early last month. The alleged shoplifting incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. on Dec. 8. Gloucester Township Police described the suspect as a young, light-skinned black male. He was wearing a maroon, hooded "A & F" sweatshirt, tan pants and a backpack when he committed the alleged theft. Police allege the shoplifting suspect took off the slippers he was wearing when he and another male entered the store together, put on a new pair and concealed a second pair in the backpack. Police Seek Would-Be Baby Formula Thief

Police say a suspect who attempted to steal baby formula from Kmart abandoned the product after being confronted by security.

Police are seeking the public's help identifying a man they say fled the Blackwood Clementon Road Kmart in a maroon pickup truck after attempting to steal baby formula. Gloucester Township Police CrimeStoppers has released surveillance video and images of the suspect in the attempted theft, which occurred around 10:35 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3. Police say the suspect abandoned a shopping cart holding six containers of Gerber Good Start baby formula after he was confronted by store security in the parking lot. NJ, Kmart Reach Settlement Over Expired Medications, Baby Formula

Kmart is hit with fines and other penalties for selling expired baby formula and non-prescription medications.

Kmart will pay $302,500, donate $25,000 worth of infant formula to charity, pay for continued unannounced state inspections, and implement new product inspection measures as part of a settlement with the state Division of Consumer Affairs, officials announced Friday. The Michigan-based big box store had been found to have sold or offered for sale expired infant formula and over-the-counter medications, the Division of Consumer Affairs announced on Friday. During inspections conducted in March 2010 at 32 of 34 Kmart stores then in operation in New Jersey, inspectors found 257 packages of infant formula, as well as non-prescription medications, that were between nine months to 29 months past the expiration date, but still available for …

GTPD: Social Media Tips Lead to Two Arrests

Police credit social media in the arrest of a man accused of stealing $27,000 worth of jewelry from Kmart in late September.

Gloucester Township police are crediting their social media efforts with two more arrests, including the apprehension of a man accused of stealing $27,000 worth of gold earrings from the Blackwood Clementon Road Kmart in late September. Investigators on Sept. 25 posted surveillance video of the Sept. 23 Kmart jewelry heist to the police department's YouTube page and released surveillance images on its Twitter and Facebook pages. The release of the surveillance video and images prompted several tips to the township's anonymous crime tip line, allowing the Criminal Investigations Bureau to identify Marvin Pollitt, 42, as a suspect, Capt. GTPD: Video Shows Man Stealing Health, Beauty Products

The suspect wears a Camden County College sweatshirt as he steals health and beauty products from Kmart.

Police are seeking the public's help identifying a man who allegedly stole various health and beauty products from the Blackwood Clementon Road Kmart. The shoplifting crime occurred at around 9 p.m. Friday night. The suspect, shown in the video and photos to the right, left the store in a silver Pontiac Grand Prix, according to Gloucester Township Police. He was wearing a dark, hooded Camden County College sweatshirt, with "CCC" in large block letters and "Cougars" in smaller script. Police: Brazen Thief Pilfered $27K in Jewelry from Kmart

Gloucester Township Police release video surveillance of the Kmart suspect in hopes someone can identify him.

Police have released surveillance video they say shows a man stealing a display case holding $27,000 worth of gold earrings from the Blackwood Clementon Road Kmart this weekend. The theft was reported to Gloucester Township Police Department at around 11:15 a.m. Sunday. The Police Department posted the video to its YouTube channel Tuesday afternoon. It shows a black male who was wearing a Ralph Lauren Polo Bucket Hat, sunglasses, dark shirt and jeans enter the store with a shopping cart, proceed to the jewelry department and load the display case into the cart. GTPD Arrests Two Suspects in Shoplifting Cases

One day after the release of surveillance footage, Gloucester Township Police charge two suspects with shoplifting in separate cases.

Gloucester Township Police were able to charge two suspected shoplifters on Thursday after releasing surveillance footage of the crimes just a day earlier. Cierra Phillips, a 20-year-old woman from Lindenwold was charged with shoplifting at Kmart on Blackwood-Clementon Road on Aug. 7. She and a female companion allegedly stuffed clothes into diaper bags in the women's changing room. Police are still searching for the other female in the incident. Sharon Green, a 40-year-old woman from Woodlynne, was charged with shoplifting at the ShopRite on Chews Landing Road on August 13. Green was caught on surveillance video allegedly putting $90 worth of seafood into her handbag before fleeing the store. Green is being held at the Camden County Jail …

Police: Man Stole Almost $500 in Merchandise from Kmart

The suspect used two purses to load up electronics, then fled from the Blackwood Clementon Road store.

Gloucester Township Police hope the public can help identify the man they say stole nearly $500 in merchandise from the Blackwood Clementon Road Kmart during a visit there last week. The shoplifting incident occurred Tuesday, June 12, at around 3:15 p.m. Police have released photos of the suspect, which were captured by the store's surveillance cameras, through the township's Crime Stoppers program. The suspect entered the store, grabbed two Joe Boxer purses, then proceeded to the electronics section. The suspect then filled the purses with various electronics items. Police described the suspect as a black male who had facial hair and was wearing a dark green jacket, light-colored T-shirt and blue jeans at the time of the theft. The store'…
