Patch/NJ Aid for Animals Pet of the Week

This Dog Gets Along with Cats; He Needs a Home

Boscoe is a 9-year-old dog who weighs about 12 pounds.

New Jersey Aid for Animals board member Kelly Matthews submitted the following to Patch regarding a dog in need of a home: Boscoe is a sweet little chocolate and tan dog. He's housebroken, gets along with other small dogs and is good with cats. He originally was adopted from a rescue, and after eight years his owner could no longer keep him because they were working long hours. Boscoe is about 9 years old but has a lot of love to give still. As with most small dogs, he's probably not the best with small children, but teens he'd be fine with. If you're looking for a little companion for yourself or your small dogs Boscoe may just be the perfect dog for you. Tipping the scales at about 12 pounds he's not tiny but he's also not too big. If …

Nothing But a Hound Dog...Looking for a Home

Patch/NJ Aid for Animals Adopt-a-Pet of the week.

New Jersey Aid for Animals (NJAFA) board member Kelly Matthews submitted the following to Patch regarding a dog in need of a home: Lulu is a very pretty Hound/Pointer/Lab mix, about 18 months old and weighs 50 pounds. She loves to fetch a tennis ball and play with squeaky toys and has learned how to sit, drop and leave. She's housebroken and go very nicely into her crate at night although, and would love a family to sleep in bed with. She's a huge fan of cuddling. Her foster family lets her cuddle with them on the couch. She's spayed and up to date on all of my shots. The only thing missing in her life is you. Why not visit, fill out an application to see how wonderful she is? http://bit.ly/NJAFADogAdoption New Jersey Aid for Animals is a …

Corkscrew Alpha of a Kitty Needs You

Five-year-old Fusilli likes to rule the roost—he just needs a home to do it in.

New Jersey Aid for Animals board member Kelly Matthews, a Gloucester Township resident, submitted the following press release to Patch: NJAFA has received a request for help with placement with "Fusilli."  This sweet tuxedo, Fusilli, came to them in September 2012 as a stray, and they have tried very hard to acclimate him into their home, however he is an "alpha" cat—aggressively territorial with their other two resident cats. He does very well with their 12-pound Eski-Pom dog, though! They named him after the "corkscrew" pasta because of his incredibly soft, wavy fur (feels like a chenille sweater) and extremely curly whiskers.  The vet believes he is a Cornish Rex mix, approximately 5 years old.  Fusilli has a very sweet temperament, is …

New Jersey Aid for Animals board member Kelly Matthews, a Gloucester Township resident, submitted the following press release to Patch: This cutie is a 6-month-old Lab-pit mix who is looking for a new home due to his owner's travel schedule picking up. She recognizes she's away a lot and wants to see her baby go to a home where he will have the companionship and attention he needs. He is neutered and crate-trained, and house-trained too! Patch/NJ Aid for Animals Pet of the Week: Sally Starr

This pup needs a home. Could yours be the spot?

New Jersey Aid for Animals board member Kelly Matthews, a Gloucester Township resident, submitted the following press release to Patch: This sweet girl is all love, luck and lollipops! She is a big bundle of love! Sally Starr is a little over a year old as of January 2013. She walks great on a leash and loves people of all ages. She's such a character. She plays well with other dogs. Sally would love an active family that involves her in their lives—takes her for walks, hiking and for rides in the car. She would love a big fenced backyard to play and exercise in. She would also do well with someone who jogs, and enjoys the outdoors. She is a large girl and may accidentally knock over a small child when she jumps up for kisses, so we …

Patch/NJ Aid for Animals Pets of the Week: Hooch

Hooch loves walks and car rides.

New Jersey Aid for Animals board member Kelly Matthews, a Gloucester Township resident, submitted the following to Patch: Hi, my name is Hooch. I am a 3-year-old male American pitbull terrier. I'm 50 pounds, neutered and have all my shots and super healthy. I like it at my foster house  a lot but I'd much rather come play at your house. I get along great with all of the other dogs and people I meet but I want my very own person, I sure hope you're it! I can sit, and love walks, and I'm good on a leash. I love car rides, and love to sleep in my crate. When I get up in the morning, I like to roll on my back for belly rubs.  I also love snuggling and give the best kisses. I would prefer a home without cats.   New Jersey Aid for Animals is a …

Patch/NJ Aid for Animals Pet of the Week: Archie

Archie has a temporary foster mom, but needs a permanent home.

New Jersey Aid for Animals board member Kelly Matthews, a Gloucester Township resident, submitted the following press release—told through the eyes of foster dog Archie—to Patch: My name is Archie. I am a very calm young man (about 18 months old) who loves everyone including dog and cats. I am currently living with four dogs of all shapes and sizes.   I am a brindle Pomeranian mix and weigh just 13 pounds, am neutered and micro-chipped, and have all my shots.    Low maintenance for me 'cause I don't dig, jump or chew and am very quiet (not one of those small yappy dogs). Although I go into my crate very nicely, my foster lets me sleep with her and says I am a real snuggler. I only need to get groomed once in a while and am doing really …

Patch/NJ Aid for Animals Pet of the Week: Stormie

Won't you give Stormie a home for 2013 and beyond?

New Jersey Aid for Animals board member Kelly Matthews, a Gloucester Township resident, submitted the following to Patch: This cute girl is Stormie. She is 8 years old, friendly, spayed, housebroken, and walks well on a leash. Stormie is good with children, too. Stormie does have some incontinence issues and takes medication to control the condition. Stormie doesn't like to be around other dogs and will need to be adopted to a home without any other dogs or cats. She is great with people and will make a wonderful companion. Who can resist this pint-sized cutie to snuggle with? Give Stormie a chance to have the home she deserves for the New Year! To inquire about Stormie email info@njafa.org.
