Post Office Announces Holiday Hours

Post offices in South Jersey will close early on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

The U.S. Postal Service recently issued the following press release:  Post offices nationwide will be open Christmas Eve, Monday, Dec. 24, and New Year’s Eve, Monday, Dec. 31. South Jersey post offices will shorten retail lobby hours and close at noon on these dates. Regular mail delivery will be unaffected by the change.  Revised hours will be posted at each post office and commercial customers are asked to check their Bulk Mail Entry Units for specific information regarding holiday hours of operation. Blue collection boxes having final collection times before noon will not be affected by these changes. However, collection boxes with final collection times scheduled after that may be collected early. Therefore, mail should be deposited …

Holiday "Go To" Recipes

Looking for some new treats to add to your holiday celebrations? This Cinnaminson mom has a few ideas.

I don’t know about you but I look forward to the culinary delights of the season. No matter what you celebrate, food often takes center stage and brings people together.   Right now, I have a box of Bayard's chocolate-covered pretzels, two containers of chocolate chip cookies and two containers of sugar cookies on my counter. Bags of Hershey Kisses, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips and a bunch of nuts are lined up on my counter waiting to be made into something delicious. I’ve got chicken cordon bleu appetizers and bull wings (steak marinated in wing sauce) from Omaha Steaks in my freezer for Christmas Eve and my husband is making sure he has all the ingredients for his annual Christmas morning crock of hot buttered rum. It Must Be Midnight Somewhere

Just like the old saying "it must be 5 o'clock somewhere," ever since we had our first child seven years ago, our New Year's Eve call has been "it must be midnight somewhere." And it always is! Typically in Paris.  Why wait for the ball to drop at midnight in Times Square when it most likely means everything else will drop? First you, then the kids! Years ago, we wondered, why not celebrate with any other city east of us at a more reasonable hour?  We choose France because their midnight is our 6 p.m. How civil!
