Wind Advisory in Effect as Storm Approaches South Jersey

Packing a serious punch to surrounding states, a storm is making landfall in South Jersey.

A storm packing strong winds and heavy rainfall is barreling into South Jersey, with the heaviest weather still to come.  With significant snowfall already in  parts of Maryland and Pennsylvania, Lee Robertson, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, says South Jersey can expect to see snowfall begin this afternoon, around rush hour. Robertson explains that the majority of snowfall will occur during the evening, and into the overnight hours. “It’s a very slow moving storm at this point,” says Robertson. While this storm has already hit hard in places, such as our nation’s capital, shutting down schools and federal offices with an expected 10 inches of snow as reported by CNN, most of South Jersey can expect much …

'Plowable' Amount of Snow Headed to Gloucester Township Friday

Meteorologists are tracking a snowstorm that looks to have an impact on the Delaware Valley this weekend.

If dealing with freezing temperatures every day this week wasn’t enough, Gloucester Township can now expect a “plowable” amount of snow on Friday. According to meteorologists with the National Weather Service (NWS) in Mount Holly, a low pressure system moving over the area Friday will bring bring with it even colder temperatures and a snowstorm. Kristin Kline, of the NWS, said officials do not have specific amounts as far as accumulation goes just yet, but it could be “several inches.” Meteorologists will know more Wednesday and Thursday. The snow is slated to start Friday afternoon and last into the night, Kline said. Cold temperatures will continue throughout the weekend, with slightly warmer temperatures coming Monday. Camden County Could See 3 Inches of Snow Saturday

National Weather Service meteorologists are tracking a snow storm this weekend.

Camden County could be blanketed in a few inches of snow starting tomorrow morning as a weather system is making its way here over the weekend. Meteorologist Mitchell Gaines, with the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, said the county should get at least 2 inches of the white stuff and potentially more, as the storm pushes north and spreads over the county by mid-to-late morning. It should end in the early evening, with Sunday expected to be sunny and breezy. Crews are already preparing for the winter blast, county officials said, pre-treating roads with brine, and have 60 pieces of equipment ready in 12 districts across the county to handle salting and plowing for 400 miles of county roads. “Even though county crews are brining …
