Gregory Adoff of Erial made the grade at one of the nation's most prestigious universities.
Gregory Adoff, a recent graduate of Timber Creek Regional High School, was named to the fall dean's list at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Adoff is majoring in biology and computer science. He is scheduled to graduate in 2016. To be selected for this honor, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale in a program of at least 14 credits with at least 12 graded credits.

Timber Creek National Honor Society advisor Joe Sokolic submitted the following to Gloucester Township Patch: On Dec. 4, the Timber Creek Regional High School National Honor Society chapter inducted 16 seniors and 51 juniors for its 12th annual induction ceremony. These 67 new initiates were joined by 75 returning members. The keynote speaker for the evening was Dr. Phillip Williams. Timber Creek scores a 57-37 win to begin the 2012-2013 season.
Cherry Hill East kept it close at the half and made a third-quarter run, but Timber Creek's 22-point fourth quarter was the difference, as the Chargers downed the Cougars, 57-37, in the teams' season openers Friday. Led by 19 points from Brittany Martin and 14 from Amanda Riiff, the Chargers took control midway through the third and dominated from then on in, taking advantage of poor shooting and a foul-happy East defense to finish it off. Desiree' Furbert added six points and Courtney Reese and Joie Brittingham scored four each. Cherry Hill East was led by Aliyah Godwin and Zoe Schlessel, who each scored seven points.
Timber Creek routs Kingsway to win its second championship in two seasons.
The Timber Creek Regional High School football team won its second South Jersey championship in two years—this time at the Group 4 level—with a 57-27 romp over Kingsway. The game was played at Rowan University Saturday night. Timber Creek, playing out of the West Jersey Football League's Royal Division, won eight in a row to finish the 2012 season at 10-2. The Chargers won a Group 3 championship in 2011 with a 33-7 win over Hammonton.
Students from the two local high schools will take on their peers in a natural resources knowledge competition on May 5.
Highland and Timber Creek high school students will be among those competing Saturday to represent New Jersey the nation’s largest environmental education competition. The two local high schools will take on 32 other teams during the 19th annual New Jersey Envirothon, a contest that tests students on natural resources topics. This year’s Envirothon theme is “Nonpoint Source Pollution/Low Impact Development.” One hundred seventy students from 15 New Jersey counties will participate in the competition at the Girl Scout Camp Sacajawea in Farmingdale, according to the New Jersey Department of Agriculture, which co-sponsors the Envirothon. Senior Michelle Garro of Timber Creek High School hopes to raise awareness and money for hydrocephalus patients with the founding of Team Blue.
A recent assembly at Timber Creek High School focused on a condition that perhaps not many students know about, but should: hydrocephalus, fluid in the skull that can lead to brain swelling. Marybeth Godlewski from the Hydrocephalus Equality Awareness Research United Society (HEAR US) gave a presentation to the students about hydrocephalus in hopes of making more students aware of it. The assembly was partially the brainchild of senior Michelle Garro. She is founder of Team Blue at Timber Creek, a group dedicated to spread awareness of hydrocephalus. Most people know hydrocephalus as “water on the brain.” More specifically, it is caused by an excess amount of cerebrospinal fluid within the ventricles of the brain, according to WebMD. Some …

Struggling through his first varsity season as a member of the Timber Creek High School wrestling team, Chargers heavyweight Joe Morett had some doubts about his role on a team with state title aspirations. In a team full of district and region champions, Morett has gone through some bumps in the road that have resulted in a sub-500 record. Through his ups-and-downs, Timber Creek coach Nick Cottone has told the young grappler to stay positive and that his time to shine would come. “I try to tell him, 'You’re young and you’re wrestling upperclassmen for the most part,'” Cottone said. “‘One day you are going to get your chance to win a big match for us.’” Friday, that moment arrived.
