Gloucester Twp. Resident Indicted in Phila. Traffic Court Scandal
Businessman Henry P. "Eddie" Alfano is accused of taking part in a far-reaching ticket-fixing scandal in Philadelphia Traffic Court.
Local resident Henry P. "Eddie" Alfano was a key player in a widespread practice of ticket-fixing in Philadelphia Traffic Court, according to a federal indictment unsealed Thursday. Nine current or former traffic-court judges also face corruption charges in the investigation. Alfano, a Kelly Driver Road resident, was indicted on one count of conspiracy, six counts of wire fraud and six counts of mail fraud, Philly.com reports. Alfano owns Century Motors Inc., a vintage-car and auto-parts dealership in Philadelphia. He also owned a towing service that won a no-bid contract from traffic court, according to Philly.com.
