Police: Man Lied About Robbery to Cover Drug Buy

Police respond to a Sicklerville Wawa Thursday morning on a report of a robbery, only to find out there was no crime—other than several committed by the alleged victim.

A Gloucester County man is in trouble with the law after he allegedly reported he was the victim of an armed robbery as cover for the fact he had actually blown his paycheck on an illegal purchase of prescription drugs. Officers from the Gloucester Township and Winslow Township police departments responded to the Wawa at 511 Berlin-Cross Keys Road, in Gloucester Township's Sicklerville section, at 2:47 p.m. Thursday on a report of a robbery. The officers immediately began searching the area for the suspect, as described by the alleged victim, who claimed he was robbed at gunpoint of $200. GTPD Following Up on Leads in Stolen Debit Card Case

Three suspects use a stolen debit card to pay for an order at the Wawa store at Chews Landing and Somerdale roads.

Gloucester Township Police are following up on several tips received after posting to YouTube on Monday surveillance video from the Wawa store at Chews Landing and Somerdale roads that captured three suspects using a stolen debit card in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. The crime occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at approximately 9:35 a.m. According to police, two male suspects and a female suspect used the debit card, which was in a wallet that had been stolen from a car parked in the Village of Chews Landing development hours earlier, to pay for an order at the Wawa. Police Seek Debit Card Fraud Suspect

The woman uses a debit card a Blenheim Wawa customer had dropped in the parking lot.

Police are seeking the public's help identifying a woman who fraudulently used another's debit card to make a purchase at the Blenheim Wawa Monday evening. Gloucester Township Police Crime Stoppers released surveillance images of the suspect Thursday afternoon. The police report indicates the suspect found the debit card in the parking lot outside the Wawa store, located at Black Horse Pike and Almonesson Road, at around 7:19 p.m. Monday. She then proceeded to use the debit card to make a purchase inside the store. When the customer returned to the store to ask about the debit card, the suspect pulled the hood to her jacket over her head and left the store. Police: Request for Directions Cover to Steal Smokes

A woman who asked a clerk at the Blenheim Wawa for directions to the Atlantic City Expressway in late August was merely creating a diversion so the man she was traveling with could steal cigarettes, according to police. Gloucester Township Police on Thursday released surveillance video and still images of the crime, which occurred at around 2 a.m. on Aug. 23, in the hopes someone will be able to identify the suspects. Police described the female suspect as a white with long, red hair. She was wearing a yellow shirt, black pants and sandals. Woman Robbed Outside of Sicklerville Wawa

Police believe the suspect may be the same person responsible for similar strong-arm robberies in Runnemede and Washington Township on Monday.

Police have released surveillance images of a man wanted for robbing a woman of her purse outside of the Berlin-Cross Keys Road Wawa store this week. Gloucester Township Police describe the suspect as a black male who is 6 feet to 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs about 190 pounds. The suspect was clean-shaven, had a close-cropped haircut and was wearing a large, white T-shirt and dark-colored shorts at the time of the robbery, which occurred outside of the Sicklerville store at approximately 7:45 a.m. Monday, according to police. Police: Shoplifter's Decision to Confront Customers Brings Robbery Charge

Police say a Sicklerville teen got into an altercation at a Wawa with customers he believed were writing down his car's license plate number.

An 18-year-old Sicklerville man is facing a robbery charge, police say, after he got into an altercation with fellow Wawa customers he believed were attempting to help the store report his alleged shoplifting to authorities. Gloucester Township Police were summoned to the Wawa at 2700 Sicklerville Road, in Erial, at 12:04 p.m. Thursday for a report of a disturbance in the parking lot, according to Sgt. Kevin Thyne. Police Release Sketch, Surveillance Images of Wawa Robbery Suspect

A woman was robbed outside of the Blenheim Wawa last Friday.

Police have released a composite sketch and surveillance images of a man wanted in connection with the strong-arm robbery of a woman outside of the Black Horse Pike Wawa convenience store in the township's Blenheim section. The robbery occurred at around 2:35 a.m Friday, Dec. 9, according to police. The victim was pushed to the ground as she approached her vehicle outside of the Wawa store located at 800 N. Black Horse Pike, police said. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police Seek Help ID'ing Cigarette Thief

Police released surveillance video that shows a woman grab two cartons of cigarettes and run out of a Blackwood Wawa.

Police on Wednesday released a surveillance video showing a woman fleeing from a Blackwood Wawa with two cartons of cigarettes for which she had not paid. The theft occurred at the Wawa at Little Gloucester and Erial roads on Tuesday, Aug. 30, at around 2:30 p.m., police said. The video shows the woman grabbed two cartons of Newport cigarettes off the counter immediately after she appeared to fake an attempt to swipe a credit or debit card through the store's card-reading machine. The suspect then ran from the store and, according to police, fled in a black SUV. Police have described the suspect as a thin, white female who appears to be in her 20s. Cops: Man Who Stole Rental Truck Crashed It Into Police Car Moments Before Arrest

Police have arrested a man they say stole a Ryder rental truck from a Black Horse Pike Wawa early Tuesday.

A Clementon Borough man has been charged with stealing a rental truck from a Wawa store in the Blenheim section of the township Tuesday morning and nearly striking police officers with it after they pulled him over on his home street this morning. Gloucester Township Police detectives developed information around 10:30 a.m. today that led to the identification of 22-year-old Christopher Craig as Tuesday morning's Ryder rental-truck thief, according to Deputy Chief David Harkins.
