Sections of wall for the future Pep Boys on Blackwood Clementon Road go up.
With site preparation work now completed, construction of the new Pep Boys tire and service center slated for Blackwood Clementon Road and Little Gloucester Road is fully underway. Gloucester Township Planning Board approved construction of the nearly 5,000-square-foot facility on the property, located next door to McDonald's, in mid-June. Gloucester Township Patch stopped by the construction site Wednesday afternoon to snap a few photos of the work, including workers erecting two walls.

Pep Boys moves forward on Blackwood Clementon Road.
Site work on the planned Pep Boys at Blackwood Clementon and Little Gloucester roads is underway. Embree Construction Group, of Georgetown, TX, is the lead contractor on the job. The Gloucester Township Planning Board in June granted Embree Asset Group Inc. approval to proceed with its plans for the Pep Boys automotive service and tire center.

More than 340 Chargers are heading into the "real world" after Thursday's graduation ceremony. Nearly 260 Tartans received diplomas Thursday night. A group looking to bring a Pep Boys franchise to the corner of Blackwood Clementon and Little Gloucester roads will go before the Township Planning Board next Tuesday. It will be the applicants' second trip before the board in three weeks. The May 22 hearing for the proposed 4,988-square-foot automotive service and tire facility was continued after two hours of testimony, according to officials. Gloucester Township Planning Board is scheduled to hear an application for a nearly 5,000-square-foot Pep Boys store on Blackwood Clementon Road Tuesday, May 22. The automotive service and tire center would be built at 1501 Blackwood Clementon Road, on the northwest corner of the intersection of Blackwood Clementon Road and Little Gloucester Road, if the planning board approves the plan. The applicants, doing business as Texas-based Embree Asset Group Inc., are seeking preliminary and final major site plan approval.
