I appreciate your comments. I totally respect the diversity that we have in this community, but I just wish it could be more. The area of Glo Twp that I live in is about 80% white, mostly Irish or Italian, and almost all Catholic or Christian.
It is nice to know that there are other areas of the town where there is a Jewish population in existence. At the school my kids attend. they are 3 of about 5 Jewish kids in the entire school.
I wish they would return to the days where they had off for the high holidays. Where I grew up (northeast Philadelphia), we always did.

I was definitely NOT surprised to see the schools open during the Jewish holiday. They always are. Unless you live in Cherry Hill, Voorhees, or an area where the Jewish population is well represented, there is no way they are going to close schools for the 5 Jewish kids in attendance.

It's a consideration. I am, however, dismayed to learn that Timber Creek has three valedictorians and two salutatorians. There should be one of each. I can't believe they won't utilize tiebreakers to come up with one. If I were the students, I would demand it. Having three reduces the accomplishment, if you ask me. Not to mention it will make it nearly impossible for me to do features on each of them. Would you be interested in doing some writing for us, Steven?
