73-Yr-Old Grandmother, 2 Teen Relatives Arrested after Fight with Cops

The fight between the Gloucester Township teens was so fierce, police needed pepper spray to break it up, they said.

A 73-year-old Blackwood grandmother was arrested Monday after she allegedly jumped on the back of a Gloucester Township policeman trying to break up a fight between her teenaged grandson and adopted son.

Cathyrine Foster, of Fraser Road, was charged with obstruction of justice. The incident was reported shortly after 7:30 p.m.

The fight between the siblings was so fierce police had to use pepper spray to break it up, they said. The 17 year old tried to flee after the fight was stopped. He was caught and subdued by several officers after allegedly resisting arrest. He was charged with aggravated assault on a policeman and held at the Lakeland juvenile detention center in Gloucester Township.

The investigating officers were identified as Adam O'lano and Chris Gerace. The police report said two officers were taken to Virtua Hospital, Voorhees with minor injuries, treated and released. It did not immediately report if O'lano and Gerace were the officers treated.

The 16 year old was charged with simple assault and release, along with his grandmother, with a pending court date. The names of the juveniles were not released.
