Daughter Pleads for Clues in Mom Carol Reiff's Death

A $4,150 reward is being offered for tips to solve the case of Carol Reiff's death in Gloucester Township.

Carol Reiff's daughter made a personal appeal Monday to ask for clues in the disappearance and death of her mother.

Dawn Centanni, 40, of Manahawkin, held a news conference at the Camden County Prosecutor's Office in Camden to announce a $4,150 reward for information about what happened to her mother, who lived at the Lakeview Apartments in Gloucester Township.

The money was raised by family and friends and Centanni asked for more contributions to be sent by check to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office at 25 North 5th St., Camden, NJ, 08102. Donors should write, “Carol Reiff Reward Fund” as a note on checks.

Reiff, 59, an insurance company worker and avid jogger, was scheduled to meet her daughter for a day at the beach June 21, but never showed up. Centanni said she last spoke with her the day before. Reiffs remains were found June 24 in a wooded area near her home in the 500 block of Lower Landing Road, near the Route 42 highway entrance.

Her death has not been ruled a homicide by the medical examiner, but the prosecutor’s office and Gloucester Township Police Department consider the matter a criminal investigation. Reiff's body was badly decomposed when it was discovered.

Anyone with information on Reiff's death is urged to contact Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Investigator Chuck Farrell at 856-225-8653 or Gloucester Township Police Det. Bill Westphal at 856-228-4500.
