Jack O’ Lantern Deals and Steals

There may be a pumpkin shortage, but there is no shortage on Halloween deals.

The rainy summer may have limited this year’s pumpkin crop, but you can still find great deals on pumpkins, gourds and all the related harvest items. From picking your own to stopping into the grocery store in the township, here are the great deals on pumpkins and all the fixings. 1. Pumpkins and Gourds at ShopRite Deal: If the farm is not your speed (or you simply don’t have time for the whole hayride), stop into ShopRite for great deals. Large pumpkins perfect for carving are just $4.99, smaller pie pumpkins (paint and then puree!) are 2 for $5 and bags of gourds are $3.99 for six bumpy delights that will stay fresh through Thanksgiving. Good Through: Ongoing 2. Painting and carving accessorises at Walgreens Deal: Grab all the tools to make your pumpkins perfect. Walgreens has a "Paint a Pumpkin" kit for $2.99, pumpkin lights for $3.99, carving kits for $4.99 and a pumpkin power saw for $7.99 Good Through: Saturday 3. Hayride, Corn Maze and Pumpkin Picking at McCann Farm Deal: Take a 20-minute drive to Monroeville and check out McCann Farm for a great deal on fall fun. For $7.50, get a hayride, a corn maze and pick your own pumpkin. It is just $3 for parent riders (no pumpkin included). While you are there, check out the petting zoo and grab some farm-fresh fall produce at a steal of a price. Good Through: Ongoing 4. All the Fall Fun at Duffield’s Farm Deal: Stop into Duffield’s Farm in Sewell for all the fall excitement. Hayrides and pumpkins are $8. While you are there, check out the moon bounce, corn maze, petting zoo and pony rides (some with additional, nominal fees).  Good Through: Halloween 5. Fake is Fabulous at Michaels  Deal: Maybe you think real pumpkins are overrated or you want to snag some decorations that will last year after this year. This week, Michaels has craft pumpkins on sale for 50 percent off (score one for as little as $2). Good Through: Saturday
